Friday Early arrivals Even though the race did not start until 4p.m. on Sunday, some people took the opportunity to arrive early and enjoy the practice sessions on Friday. Some supporters turned up early too, to get in at the beginning of the story and to enjoy the good weather and atmosphere.
After the practice sessions as night fell, everyone went to the Snetterton bar called Tyrells, for a Hog Roast in the garden organised by Wayne Cowling.
Bella's Boys AuctionFollowing the Hog Roast, the auction took place in Tyrells bar where the items were laid out on tables at the back of the bar. Mick Storey gave an amusing introduction and then Pete Sparrow took over to act as auctioneer - ably assisted by his daughter Bella, who had been the inspiration for the fund raising effort. Pete speedily went through the items and the bids came thick the fast. About £4,000 was raised, which was marvellous. Thanks go to the sponsors and bidders, all of whom were very generous.
I (Paul Robertson) have spoken to Jamie
Hopper at Snetterton about Friday testing and he has agreed to : Full
day (4 x 50 minute sessions) car & 3 drivers £200.00 8 April 2005 Event tickets £12 on the gate or £10 pre booked and camping free for spectators.
