Technical Matters

Welcome to the Technical Section of the 2CV Racing Club web site. Here you will find information on building and maintaining a 2CV race car including:

  • How to get a car ready for racing
  • List of special parts required
  • List of suppliers
  • Details of racing specialists who prepare engines / cars for racing
  • The Technical Regulations the car must comply with to race

The 2CV is a very clever but basic car. Its design is over 50 years old, so when you look beneath the skin you will find items that may be different to anything you have seen before.

In general it is very simple to work on because it is like a big Meccano set; everything comes to pieces using 8,9,10,11,14,16,17 & 19 mm spanners. Engines and gearboxes can be removed in minutes, which means that it is ideal for endurance racing where time on the track is paramount. All work can be done by anyone brave enough to pick up a spanner and wave it in anger at the car.

If there is anything you cannot find or would like to know about the technical side of 2CV racing, please contact me and I will be happy to help you. You will find my email address and telephone numbers on the Club Contacts page.
