Getting ready for the start

The drivers' briefing took place at noon.  As 4 p.m. approached the teams were making final adjustments. Family and friends visited the pits to wish the teams good luck.

At Tete Rouge there's always something to do

The Start

At 3.45 the cars started to line up in the pit lane ready for the off. The race has a rolling start; at 4 p.m. the cars were off with Dead End Racing leading the way.

A few laps later

At 5 p.m. Tete Rouge was in the lead, Ramageddon second, Mardi Gras third, Gadget Racing fourth and Turquoise Tortoise fifth.

A number of incidents were reported including:
Car 1 Dead End Racing - mechanics were working on the engine.
Car 3 Hooters - seal on a valve blew, it will take 40 minutes to fix.
Car 4 Twin Snails Too - reported losing oil from the engine
Car 10 Clockwork Orange - team was given a rear wing by Team 5 Hollis Motorsport.
Car 16 Imbroglio - steering rod failed, Wayne Cowling of Gadget Racing helped with spare parts.
Car 59 Gate A Mation - came in for rear wing straightening.
Car 62 Tete Rouge - broke the lap record twice.
Car 70 RaceHire.com - moved up from 20th place to 7th.
Car 99 BRMs - had a shunt. Frome/Team Fine Print helped them make alterations.

At 6 p.m. Tete Rouge retained the lead with Ramageddon second, Gadget Racing had moved up to third, Turquoise Tortoise to fourth and Yellow Peril to fifth.

At 7 p.m. Ramageddon had taken the lead closely followed by Gadget Racing, Tete Rouge was third, Mardi Gras fourth and Rocket Dog was up to fifth.

At 8 p.m. Gadget Racing took the lead with Ramageddon second, Tete Rouge third, Mardi Gras fourth and Rocket Dog fifth.

At 9 p.m. Gadget Racing was still in the lead, Ramageddon second, Tete Rouge Third, Rocket Dog up to fourth and Mardi Gras down to fifth.
