Now that the entry forms are out, you'll be focussing on making your race car more reliable and a bit quicker - both essential for a good result. While you are doing all that, try to spend some time thinking about making the car look its best.
During the event, it will come under the gaze of the film crew for BBC Top Gear, from the people at Citroen and from our soon-to-be-announced big name race title sponsor. Have a look around it and see what can be done to sharpen it up a little. You can often make big improvements at very little cost, with just a bit of imagination and some elbow grease.
If you've got a some old and tired stickers, think whether they can really be seen in photos. Larger, simpler stickers are much better - tip - place your race number panel as far forward as possible, to maximise your space for other stickers. Make sure that you have (or have allowed space for) all the stickers required under the series regs. Getting lettering cut is not too expensive, so if you have a sponsor, then write his name large on the car and show him the pics after the event. If you don't have a sponsor, then maybe you could select and support a charity and write their name large on the car. The new race sponsor wants their branding strong on the cars. The two places which have been agreed are over the front windscreen and over the rear window. So, if you have stickers there just now, we ask you to remove them and clean up the area. |
