First qualifying for the sprint was fairly standard, Sparrow on pole ahead of Gary B with Mike Cooper two hundredths behind. Warwick Howlett andTrev Crake not getting a full compliment of laps. Twenty minutes later we were all out there doing it again - this time three laps in Steve Panas took an interesting but untried line on Paddock and tyres and gravel flew over the circuit, Mike Cooper anchored up and Martin Harrold didn't shortening the Cooper car and taking his own out for the whole day. The rest restarted the session.
Another brief respite and the second enduro drivers set off to qualify. The big magnet on paddock bend claimed Trevor Crake, Nick Woodward lost a wheel and several others strayed on and off the black bit.
Sprint Race Review
After what seemed like seconds we were out for the sprint race Gary B got the jump on Pete Sparrow pursued by Mike Cooper and Wayne Cowling, this lasted until hairy hill when Pete's car , using a new low maintenance tactic, sprayed out most of its race fuel from the open fuel cap, this went over Mike Cooper causing spectacular lack of grip. Wayne and Nick .three wheel, Woodward went through to 2nd and 3rd. Pete left and returned later well behind the battle in mid field between Trevor Williams,Tim Dodgson and Andy Findlay. Trevor Crake solved matters by an ambitious manoeuvre which resulted in the red flag on lap 7. This allowed time for a bacon sarnie while the special saloons went out for a drive.
Enduro Race part 1 Review
