Richard Dalton strolled home a good 12 seconds ahead of the rest of the field to take his fifth win of the season. Despite telling the race commentator it had been very easy, and he had not pushed himself, he also managed to pick up the fastest lap of the race.
This was in complete contrast to qualifying, where he had been head-to-head with Pete Sparrow, losing out by just 1/100 of a second to start second on the grid.
Polesitter Sparrow had a bad start, and spent the race fighting off Mick Storey and Nick Woodward. Woodward made it past Sparrow a few times, only to have the place snatched back soon after. In the closing laps he made it stick to take second place, but it was a battle right to the line.
Mick Storey put in another good performance. Qualifying fourth, he made a great start and at one point had second position before Sparrow reclaimed it. He dropped back further when Nick Woodward slipped past him as he sat in Sparrow slipstream. Colin Whiteley also made it past to claim his fourth 4th place of the season.
Tragedy for Zoe Cardell, who went off on the last lap and failed to take home any points from the weekend. Chris Ingelbrecht failed to make it to the grid after crashing out in the qualifying session, bringing out the read flags.
