Steve Panas (6.12.2005) :-
Thanks for the interest in an
entry for the 24 hour race next year. I would like to point out
the following :
Travel for those using the Friday practice day is normally Thursday.
Access to the paddock is from about 4 pm onwards though some
have managed to set up before.
Practice day for the event will
be the Friday 28th April 2006 prior to the race. [Approx £200
sterling for the day]
The 2cv Racing club will be holding
a BBQ on the Friday evening to which all competitors are invited.
Qualifying for grid position will
be held early Saturday evening [probably around 7.30 while 10pm]
All drivers MUST complete 3 full laps in the dark]
The race is to start at 4pm Sunday.
There may be some track time on the Sunday morning.
All drivers will have to have
day membership of 2cv Racing club which is £30 sterling.
All drivers will have to have
BARC membership of £30 sterling. This is a concessionery
rate against the full fee of £95 sterling.
Entry fee for the race itself
is normally £1400 sterling BUT for next year an agreement
has been reached to reduce this to £1000 for those from overseas.
This is to subsidise your traval costs.
A deposit of £200 is required
by the 12th January 2006 to book your grid slot. [Remember demand
is very high and likely to outstrip supply] The balance of £800
sterling is split between the 12th Feb/12th March and 12th April.
Lotto tickets are given in accordance with the speed of entry/payment.
Full payment in January will give the maximum tickets. Five teams
will win their race fuel for the 24 hours from the lotto draw which
will take place at the BBQ.
Car rental costs can vary between £600
- £1200 sterling. Please advise your postal address if you
wish to go further with your interest. You will then receive full
details and entry forms.
regards, S Panas (6.12.2005)
