13 & 14 August 2005 - Party |
A surprise party was organised to celebrate Colin
Whiteley's 50th birthday; Jan knew that Colin would notice if she had
party stuff in their mobile home, so other members of the club made the
arrangements.
The 'Yorkshire Posse' put up the large marquee (ostensibly
to protect their cars from the rain) on friday afternoon and bought the
food - locally made pies - which arrived piping hot for the meal on saturday
night. Sara and Katrina brought the decorations and put up them up on
saturday afternoon just before the party; they also organised a large
chocolate birthday cake with 50 candles.
Paul Robertson and Colin were driving
the Tete Rouge car in the enduro race on Sunday, so Paul arranged for
the car, number 63 this year, to be renumbered as 50 and Sara organised
for their Team Name in the published programme to be Happy 50 Colin (not
Tete Rouge).

Shaun McLaughlin and the
gang did a great job getting ready for the party. |

At the back people serve
themselves with hot food, while Simon Pearson chats. |

Everyone came along to
join the celebration. |

The food was very good,
rib-sticking stuff; including a vegetarian option. |

There were plenty
of pies and some people went back for more. |

Colin made a short, but sweet, speech thanking
everyone. |
